Are you psychic?
No. I do not see the future and I do not talk to the dead.
I read what is in the room and I tell you what I am getting. What it means is almost always something you already knew.
The word is the problem, not the answer
When somebody asks this, they usually mean do you predict things. So I say no, and the no feels incomplete, because it is. The word belongs to the thing I do not do, and answering yes or no on somebody else’s definition never gets anywhere.
What I do is closer to attention than to prophecy. I can feel the state of a person sitting across from me and I usually know what will settle them. That is a real skill and it is one that therapists, nurses, bartenders and good teachers train for years to do badly. It is not a small claim. It is just not a supernatural one.
What it is actually like
I do not see anyone and I do not hear voices. What arrives is words and impressions that do not feel like they came from my own head, alongside a read on the energy in the room.
Where that comes from, I do not know. I have a belief about it, and it is that the gift is from God and I am the instrument rather than the source. But I am not going to dress a belief up as a fact. I know what it feels like and I know what I do with it, and those two things are enough to work honestly.
Why the not-knowing is the point
I pulled a card once and started talking about birds. I had the image and the feeling of birds and no idea why. At the end of the sitting the woman told me it was about her daughter.
I did not know that. She did. I brought the image and she brought the meaning, and the reason it landed is that I was not aiming at anything.
That is the actual shape of what happens at the table, and it is why I will keep saying it plainly. If I ever start implying I knew about the daughter, I have become the thing I keep telling people I am not.
What about messages from people who have died?
I am not a medium and I do not carry messages. Sometimes a reading turns to somebody who is gone, and something specific and material about their life comes up, and it is right.
That is not the person speaking to me. The way I understand it, what is left behind is a signature in the world we are still standing in, and that is what I am picking up. I would rather describe it that way and be accurate than tell a grieving person their mother is in the room with us, which is a thing I will not do.
So what should you expect
- Not a prediction. No dates, no outcomes, no you will meet someone in March.
- Not a verdict on somebody else. The reading stays about you.
- A story, and a way to use it. Here is what I am getting, here is how to explore it, here is what to sit with.
